The family of the 22 year old Maseno Universit student ,William Mayenga is crying for justice.

This is after their child was shot dead during the Azimio demonstrations on Monday.

According to the family’s spokesperson, Moses Miruka, their son was raised in a strict Christian family and they do not understand the reason why police officers decided to shot him dead

“I’m Mayienga’s uncle and our son was polite, graceful and down to earth since he was raised in a strict Adventist family. I don’t know the reason why the rogue police officers decided to shoot him to death. It is so painful seeing him lying lifeless in the mourge,” said Miruka.

His emotional mother is still wondering if the officers misidentified his firstborn son with the bandits.

“My son was not a Bandit. Why did they decide to kill my son surely? He is my first my eye infact she was taking bachelor of arts education in English literature following my steps in teaching,” she added.

The family members claim that they have tried to reach out to police officers at Maseno Police Station for a statement in vain.

The officers have instead referred them to Independent Policing Oversight Authority.

“The officers at Maseno police station declined to record a statement with us. They reffed us to IPOA. The IPOA officers came and have told us the postmortem will be carried out tomorrow,” Miruka told Ghetto radio.

William is the only student from Maseno University who was shot to death on Monday during Azimio demonstrations. The body is currently lying at Coptic Orthodox Mission Motuary as family pleads for help to burry their their son.
