Nairobi County Assembly MCAs have today approved unanimously all the ten CECs Nominees presented before the house by governor Johnson Sakaja.
The appointment committee in the report tabled in the house today endorsed all the ten nominees saying the have requisite skills to perform the functions.
The ten include Charles Kerich who served as CEC for Finance and Planning in the last regime, Brian Mulama who has been picked to head Talent, Skills Development and Care docket, Patrick Mbogo (Mobility and Works), Stephen Gathuita Mwangi (Built Environment and Urban Planning), Ibrahim Auma Nyangoya (Boroughs Administration and Personnel), and Rosemary Kariuki (Business and Hustler Opportunities).
Also nominated are Maureen Njeri, Dr. Anastasia Mutethya Nyalita, and Suzanne Silantoi who will be the CECMs for Environment, Water, Food and Agriculture; Health, Wellness, and Nutrition; and Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Service respectively. John Mwangi Maina will head Urban and Regional Planning
“Mr. Speaker let me thank members for supporting the report ..the nominees must respect and work for Nairobians, as CECs must appear before us at any point and we will do our job. So let them serve with dignity,” Majority leader Peter Imwatok said.
“We have many organisations churches and other denominations and that should not deter us from supporting the nominees …the appointment committee has done a good job and we must congratulate them,” Majority whip Moses Ogeto said.
