National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and his Senate Counterpart Ken Lusaka will take a 30% pay cut for the next three months to support the fight against COVID 19.

Their announcement comes barely a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto announced they will take an 80% pay cut as well.

Lusaka says Members of Parliament are in consultations on the same and once a decision is made they will communicate to Kenyans.

Muturi said should the need for a special sitting arise, they will make necessary arrangements to ensure they observe social distancing during the sitting.
