Algeria’s Desert Foxes are likely to be without two top stars when they trade tackles with Nigeria’s Super Eagles in their semi-final clash on Sunday, July 14, at the Cairo International Stadium.
Galatasaray midfielder Sofiane Feghouli and Nice defender Youcef Atal are struggling to be fit for the semi-final, after injuries cropped up during their quarterfinal win over Ivory Coast.
Youcef Atal was replaced by Mehdi Zeffane after 30th minute of action after picking up an injury.
With two days to game time, both players are expected to undergo late fitness tests to determine their availability for the contest.
So far, the North Africans have recorded four wins and one draw at the ongoing 2019 AFCON, netting ten times and conceding just once.
However, they had to bank on penalties to beat Ivory Coast in the quarterfinal after the match ended 1-1 after 120 minutes.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles are rearing to go after claiming four victories in five games, including the 2-1 quarterfinal win over South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on Wednesday night.
The Nigeria vs Algeria semi-final showdown will kick-off at 10pm East African Time.
