Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, his Mathira counterpart Rigathi Gachagua and Wahome took issue with Wa Iria for abandoning Ruto and behaving as a he-goat on heat. To Kuria, Wa Iria was feeling political heat and that was why he could not settle either in Tanga Tanga or Kieleweke sides in ruling Jubilee.

When wa Iria got wind of the attacks, he stormed the Kinyoho function with his supporters but was denied entry by Wahome supporters.

At the function, when allowed to speak, Wa Iria was heckled by Wahome supporters, leading to clashes as Ruto watched.
