HMD Global is set to introduce one of its latest smartphones, the Nokia G10, into the Kenyan market soon, according to a statement from the company.

The Nokia G10 is one of the six smartphones that HMD Global unveiled early last month.

The other five devices are the Nokia G20, Nokia C10, Nokia C20, Nokia X10 and Nokia X20.

The G series, which is where the Nokia G10 belongs, sits at the middle of HMD Global’s latest offerings under the Nokia mobile umbrella. According to the company at launch, it boasts of the highest endurance rating of the trio (the others being the X and C series smartphones). The X series is the pinnacle of HMD Global’s mid-range smartphone efforts at this point in time while the C series, as has been the case before, takes care of the lower level with Android Go.

Like other Nokia smartphones we have seen before, HMD Global is promising up to 3 years of monthly security updates and 2 years of operating system updates. Given that the device arrives running Android 11, that means that buyers should be able to count on HMD Global supporting the device through to when Android 13 arrives. Android 12 is currently under testing and should be rolling out later in the year.

The Nokia G10, being the inferior device in the G series as of the time of writing this, features a 6.5-inch HD+ display panel, a MediaTek Helio G25 chipset and a surprising (or not so surprising if you’ve been keeping up with the insane configurations of Nokia devices lately) choice of either 32 or 64 gigabytes of onboard storage at a time when competitors in the local market like Tecno are shipping devices with a minimum 128GB and doubling that in some variations. There’s a choice of 3 and 4GB of memory.

On the camera front, the device makes do with a 13-megapixel main sensor and a pair of 2-megapixel depth and macro sensors. On the front of the device is an 8-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera.

It packs a 5,050mAh battery to guarantee the promised 3-day battery life.

While we don’t have the exact pricing of the Nokia G10 at this time, we can probably guess that it will be as insanely priced as some of the other Nokia devices whose local launches we have covered recently.
