Nyeri Senior Resident Magistrate Pauline Chesang was on Monday arraigned in court over the murder of her husband, lawyer Robert Chesang in Lukenya, Machakos County.
Mrs Chesang alongside three others among them two police officers appeared before Mavoko principal magistrate Elvis Mitheka.
Chesang, according to the charge sheet was shot several times by unknown armed men.
He was alone at the time of the attack but surprisingly nothing was stolen from his home by the attackers.

Chesang’s wife will remain in custody for nine more days to allow further investigations on her involvement in the murder that happened last month continues.
Through her lawyer Assa Nyakundi, she had sought to be released on bond so as to take care of their children aged eight and five years respectively since she was the only guardian.
However, Mavoko principal magistrate Elvis Mitheka denied the prayer saying the matter is sensitive and the accused might interfere with investigations which are at an advance stage.
Mr Nyakundi further argued that the accused has a severe asthmatic medical condition which has further been worsened by shock from her husband sudden demise and detaining her in custody will subject her to more suffering.

According to police, the magistrate spent the night at the Athi River police station after she was arrested on Sunday.
She had been summoned for questioning over the murder of her husband when police detained her.
