I do not like cocktails but seeing as I am off beers, my choices are paper thin when it comes to enjoying a stiff one. And the one cocktail I prefer to drink that preserves my masculinity is adding water to my whiskey.
But the next best thing would have to be an Old Fashioned. This classic drink is a minimalist’s drinkgasm! It has the least ingredients and allows you to enjoy the whiskey that forms its base. And if you are out tonight and looking for drink that you can enjoy that gives you an air of sophistication then I would strongly recommend you order yourself an Old Fashioned. But if you will be drinking at a house party or at home with the lights off as you cry over your non-existent love life, I will tell you how to make it for yourself:
Ingredients
- 1 sugar cube
- 2 to 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 2 ounces bourbon (or rye whiskey)
- Optional: orange slice
- Optional: splash of club soda
- Garnish: orange peel
- Garnish: maraschino cherry
