– Man United have won just one game in four of the season’s opening matches
– The dip in form has seen them drop to seventh on the log
– They will be playing Leicester in their next Premier League clash
Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has maintained the club is “on the right track” despite dropping points away from home once again.
United were forced to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Southampton at St Mary’s on Saturday, August 31, with Daniel James once again scoring for the Red Devils.
The Old Trafford dwellers were seeking to bounce back to winning ways against the Saints after suffering a 2-1 defeat at home against Crystal Palace.
The side’s last win of the new season came against Chelsea in their campaign opener, before being held to a 1-1 draw at Molineux against Wolves.
Despite the woeful form, Solskjaer has come out defend to defend United, insisting his side only lacked the cutting edge to claim all three points against Southampton.
“We are on the right track, definitely. But if you look at the last three games, there’s not many points we have won,” talkSPORT quoted Solskjaer.
“But those three games were better than the first one, which we won. So, sometimes you have got to look behind the results,” the Norwegian added.
Meanwhile, the poor results have seen the Old Trafford outfit plummet on the standings and currently sit seventh with five points.
They will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they host Leicester City in their next Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
