Kisumu County Assembly reportedly voted to impeach embattled Speaker Onyango Oloo after a day of running battles with police.
Kondele MCA Joachim Oketch moved the motion against Oloo citing 10 grounds.
According to him, the Speaker flouted Standing Orders at the county assembly.
He cited one incident when Oloo suspended 3 MCAs, accusing him of doing it un-procedurally.
Oketch also highlighted alleged Oloo of abuse of office and the ongoing graft case over the Lake Basin mall.
MCAs voted and the acting Speaker declared that 42 MCAs had passed the motion.
However, a spot check by Radio Ramogi revealed that only 33 MCAs were inside the county assembly during the voting time.
Impeachment procedures for a Speaker require a threshold of 36 MCAs as per the Standing Orders.
Despite this, Oraro maintatins that the required majority voted to impeach Oloo.
