The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is now available for purchase in Kenya. The phone was unveiled last week and immediately went on pre-order for a period ending July 28 for a cool Kshs 90,000. There’s also an FC Barcelona Edition of the device, although we don’t know if and when it will arrive in Kenya.

Until then, there are several things you need to know about the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom besides the much-hyped wedge-style rising selfie camera, tri-lens back camera, and the under-display fingerprint scanner.

Nokia and Oppo struck a deal last November whose fruits we are just beginning to see. Previously exclusive to Nokia phones, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom becomes the first non-Nokia handset to ship with OZO Audio technology.

Both Audio 3D and Audio Zoom are on board. Where the former ensures the Reno 10x Zoom delivers natural and hi-fidelity audio within a degree of accuracy, the latter is to audio what a telephoto lens is to the camera. That is, it enables the device to point and amplify audio (zoom into) corresponding the zoomed video dynamically.

With the support of OZO Audio, the three microphones in the 10x Zoom will ensure capturing of the spatial audio, including when shooting videos, is top-notch. Yes, all the above OZO Audio-related features also spring to life when recording videos, promising quality footage thanks to the impressive 10x zoom camera with rich audio.

“With both 10x Zoom and Audio Zoom, Reno users can cut out the noise or random passersby to get clear pictures and audio of what really matters” the company notes.

On top of Audio 3D and Audio Zoom, the Reno 10x Zoom also ships with support for Audio Focus and Audio Windscreen technologies. With the former, the device is able to “pinpoint and dynamically track a sound source during recording” while the latter “neutralizes the common issue of weather-related mic noise.”

For post-production, the Reno has Audio Tune for “adjust[ing] pitches with a high degree of customization.”
