Juliet Otieno of Pangani Girls High School has emerged top in the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
Juliet scored an A plain of 87.644 points followed by Kaluna James of Maseno High School who scored 87.394 points.
The 2018 KCSE exams registered an improved performance with 315 students attaining a mean grade of A compared to 142 in 2017.
Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed has attributed the improvement in performance to the robust reforms introduced in the Ministry to help uphold the integrity of examinations.

For the second year running Pangani Girls High School has produced the best candidate in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination.
Edwin Otieno Ouko of Light Academy closed the top three positions with a mean grade of A with 87.363 points.
Kamweru Mwangi Duncan Ian of Moi High School Kabarak came in fourth with 87.289 points, followed by Maseno’s Humphrey Rasugu who scored 87.281 points.
Out of the 660,204 students who sat for the exam, 315 scored straight As compared to 2017 where only a paltry 142 attained the same result.
Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed in releasing the results attributed the improved performance to the robust reforms put in place by the Ministry of Education.
Amina however said some 100 students have had their results cancelled due to exam malpractice, with KNEC also withholding results of some centers.
Parents and teachers being indicted for abetting exam malpractice.
During the examination process, 191 people including candidates were arrested and arraigned in court for various examination offences. Some 56 cases are still pending in court.
Individual candidates can access their results by sending their index number through a Short Message Service to 20076.
