It’s every woman’s nightmare when family planning methods work against her body. Here are women who narrated their worst experiences as shared with Mpasho.
*Stella (not her real name) told Mpasho,
‘I need help, I Used copper T, then broke up with my boyfriend in 2014. My second relationship was hell on earth cause I never wanted to even get closer to my boyfriend.
Sex was very painful and swelling in my private parts.
I couldn’t take it. I had the Copper T removed after some time but still sex was very painful. I last had sex in 2017 and couldn’t go for round 2. It was so painful I’ve sought help from the best gynacologists and nothing has changed.’
Stella added that age is catching up with her and she needs as much help as she can get.
‘Am 29 and so stressed up with this life. I don’t want to grow old alone I need a family. Any man who approaches me huwa nawadanganya I am married. Please I need advice 4 people out there.’
Below are more experiences from Kenyan women on their experiences with different family planning methods.
