Pepo mbaya! Kenya police chopper crashes in Meru (Photos)

A Kenya Police chopper AgustaWestland AW119 registration: 5Y NPW crashed in Kaithe Kithoka area, in Meru county this morning.

The chopper was ferrying the security team to Marsabit for a meeting when it crashed.

According to media reports, the chopper developed mechanical problems and crashed in banana plantations. Injured passengers were rushed to  Meu Level 5 hosputal.

Police spokesman Charles Owino said there were six occupants on board; two pilots and four passengers-members of Eastern Security committee.
