The pilot flying the ill-fated helicopter carrying Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika communication team that crashed into Lake Nakuru on October 21 was under the influence of alcohol.
This is according to an report released on Wednesday by Transport CS James Macharia explaining the cause of the accident.

The accident claimed the lives of captain Apollo Malowa, Anthony Kipyegon, Sam Gitau and John Mapozi, who were members of Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika’s communication team, and Ms Veronicah Muthoni.
