NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 18 – If you are among the people who still think COVID-19 is not with us or is just in quarantine centers, read some more.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahu Kagwe released a statement Saturday, revealing the location of some COVID-19 patients.

Nairobi leads in the number of cases with 193 cases of the total 262 cases. Mombasa comes in second with 43 cases, followed by Mandera with 6.

In Nairobi, Kagwe said the cases are spread between almost all estates with Kilimani leading with 6 cases, Pipeline 5.

Karen, South C and Utawala tie at 4 cases each, followed by Kawangware 3 cases.

Tassia, Kitisuru, Parklands, Buru Buru and Kibra tie at 2 cases each.

According to the CS, almost every other city estate has reported at least one case. These include Donholm, Eastleigh, Hurlingham, Lavington, Runda, Ngara, Madaraka, Kasarani and many more.

“I want to plead with all of us to take the measures we have announced more seriously,” he said.

In terms of age distribution for all the 262 cases, 0-14 year olds are eight (8), 15-29 seventy (70), 30-59 one hundred and sixty four (164) and above 60 years are twenty (20). Two hundred and thirty six (236) are Kenyans while the rest are foreign nationals.

“Fellow Kenyans, Kenya is still on red alert. The numbers are on a steady rise,” he said.
