Dreaded Director of Public Persecution Noordin Haji’s name has prominently featured as those behind a complex matrix aimed at bullying Chief Justice David Maraga out of the office.
Maraga is unusual gesture went public and confirmed to the nation through a televised address, the alleged plot by the Executive to kick him out of the office before the end of the year.
The DPP and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti had severally claimed that their war against corruption was being frustrated at the justice department.
Another notable player in Maraga’s tribulations is said to be Speaker Justin Muturi who is also a close friend to President Kenyatta.
It started when former Solicitor General Njee Muturi was sacked from the powerful post to a less visible role at the State House in a bid to create room for Kennedy Ogeto.
But it has emerged that Muturi is the master player in the move by virtue of being the Deputy Chief of Staff, Legal, Constitutional and Legislative Affairs and President Uhuru heavily depends on him for advice.
A decision to settle on Ogeto who is a Kissii, as the best replacement for troubled Maraga is understandably to retain the docket in Kisii region.
Inside sources claim that similar tactic was used on deputy chief justice Philomena Mwilu who was accused of corruption, failure to pay tax and improper dealings with a local bank now in receivership.
