Eli Mwenda, a social media influencer and co-host of ManTalk Ke podcast, has publicly displayed an act of forgiveness towards his attacker.

In an Instagram post, he expressed his decision to take the high road and forgive the individual responsible for the attack, acknowledging that he knew the person personally.

“I have decided not to name him publicly as I don’t believe he should be defined by one poor decision. Although I forgive him wholeheartedly on a personal level, I have still followed all official channels to prevent this from happening to anyone else.”

Social media has been abuzz since the recent revelation of the unfortunate event that took place on Sunday, July 2, between content creator Eli Mwenda and an assailant who remains unidentified. The incident left the 30-year-old bloody and in need of surgery after attending the packed Blankets and Wine event.

The well-known podcaster took to his Instagram to narrate his side of the story, stating,

“On Sunday night, I was assaulted while leaving an event. During the attack, I did not retaliate. This assault led to my face being sliced open.”

He alleges that the severity of the assault required him to undergo surgery to prevent scarring from the attacker’s slash on his face. As a result, he has decided to take a break from social media and refrain from posting until he heals.

“I have had to have surgery to avoid any permanent scarring. It has impacted my work schedule, meaning I’ll be unable to shoot content until my face fully heals.”

As Kenyans speculate about the identity of the assailant and their motives, Eli explains that he will be taking a break from his usual posting to focus on his physical and mental well-being. He assures his followers that he will eventually return to “doing what he loves to do,” which is creating content.
