Police yesterday impounded over Ksh. 102 Million in fake Euro currency at a house in Githurai Kimbo.
Three suspects Rose Wambui, Mary Muthoni and Tabitha were arrested in connection with the fake currency.
Police say the stash had been kept in safe box in the house occupied by the three ladies.
“Thorough search in the house occupied by the three ladies led the detectives to a suspicious strongly locked Safe Box. They managed to unlock it later & found the over 880,090 Euros (fake) in 100 denominations. The same has been secured and kept as Exhibit,” said the police.
The operation was led by detectives based at the Ruiru in a resolute intelligence led operation.
The fake money has been kept as exhibit while the three women are assisting the police with further investigations.
