Police in Eldoret are on a manhunt for five suspected robbers who escaped with bullet injuries after exchanging fire with the police during a 3.30 am robbery attempt at Tamarind building on Christmas day.
Eldoret East OCPD, Richard Omanga said police gunned down one of the suspects following a foiled robbery in Eldoret town but the five managed to escape with injuries.
Omanga said the suspects have been breaking into business premises along Ronald Ngala Street and robbing traders their goods.
The suspected gangsters were reportedly masked and armed, one with a pistol and the rest with crude weapons including pangas, master keys and masking tapes.

Night guards in the building noticed their presence and raised an alarm prompting police officers who were on patrol to respond swiftly.
The OCPD assured residents of Eldoret town that security patrols have been intensified during this festive season to ensure that properties and lives of citizens are protected.
