Police officers are investigating an incident in Lang’ata where an officer shot two women before turning the gun on himself.
Corporal Mark Mulanda allegedly shot Fiona Chepkoech aged 37 and Rhoda Machuma aged 28 at Mugumoini Chief’s Camp on Sunday at around 8 PM before killing himself.
A police report seen by Ghetto Radio states that Machuma was Mulanda’s girlfriend while Chepkoech was the wife to his (Mulanda’s) friend.
Mulanda had been deployed to Cleanshelf, NHC and Southlands area but had returned to his house claiming he forgot something.
“Initially, the officer in company of two other officers had reached at cleanshelf area where he excused himself to pick something from his house which is about 500 M away. It was then that the gun shots were heard,” reads the report.
Officer shot girlfriend seven times
The report states that he first shot Chepkoech two times then locked his house from inside and shot his girlfriend Machuma seven time.
“At the scene, the officer was fully dressed in his police uniform, pocket phone and his AK 47 with 20 rounds remaining.”
It is not yet clear why the officer committed the heinous acts but investigations are currently ongoing.
The bodies have been moved to City Mortuary and Chiromo funeral home awaiting autopsy.
