Police had to move in swiftly to rescue several members of parliament after rowdy youths stormed their meeting.

Anti-riot police squad had to lob teargas canisters into the air to disperse the rowdy youth who has stormed Garissa Township Primary School where Team Embrace had camped to drum up support for unity and the handshake pact between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.

Intelligence reports had indicated that there were plans to disrupt the rally due to local politics and the battle for regional supremacy pitting Governor Ali Korane and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, who is also the local MP.
