The underfire Mugiithi musician DJ Fatxo(born Lawrence Njuguna Wagura) on Sunday, March 12, called a presser amid investigations into the mysterious death of interior designer Geoffrey Mwathi alias ‘Jeff’.

Speaking at the Greenspot Gardens in Ruiru, Kiambu county, DJ Fatxo said he had left Jeff at his Redwood apartment on Thika Road before he was found dead on February 22, 2023.

Reports indicate Jeff fell from the 12th floor of the apartment.

DJ Fatxo said when he returned home after about three few hours, he found Jeff was not in the house.

“I went with Jeff to my house and then I immediately left with three ladies then later came back after a few hours finding that Jeff was not in the house and the others were there. I am the one who went with them to report to police that Jeff is missing,” he said.

Without revealing further details, DJ Fatxo also claimed that he called Jeff’s family to inform them of his passing.

“There is this issue going on that I did not mourn the death of Jeff. I reached out to his family, I’m the one who actually contacted them and told them that Jeff is no more. I told them I would have supported them to bury their son,” he claimed.

DJ Fatxo said Jeff was a friend he had known for two years. The singer claimed he used to buy shoes from his shop.

“There is no way I can lose a friend and fail to mourn them. I understand that people may have their suspicions, but I did everything I could to reach out to the family and support them during this difficult time,” he said.

Fatxo stated he is willing to collaborate with security agencies to establish what happened to the 23-year-old interior designer.

He also explained that he could not attend Jeff’s funeral because the case had taken a turn and he was not sure of his safety.

DJ Fatxo also asked Kenyans to pray for him saying he was going through a difficult time.

“For Kenyans and my fans, keep on praying for me. This thing is so hard but we will emerge victorious,” he said.

During the same presser, Fatxo’s lawyers said their client was not responsible for Jeff’s death.
