His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta has this morning cast his vote at Mutomo Primary School in Gatundu South while the Azimio One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga has voted at Old Kibra Primary School.
Multitude of his supporters thronged the polling station after escorting his motorcade for kilometers.
President Kenyatta voted at Mutomo Polling Station polling station in Gatundo South accompanied by his wife, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.
Voters were taken aback after recognising Margaret who queued alongside other voters without raising eyebrows.
Just like Raila, the president was identified biometrically before being cleared to proceed to the voting booth to mark the six ballot papers and consequently dropping them on the respective ballot boxes.
“The process was smooth, the process did not take too long, everything seems to be working we just hope it continue like that for the rest of the day. Vote and vote in peace and every Kenyan and myself believe that the election shall be free and fair.” The President said
He exuded confidence of a smooth process throughout the day as soon as he stepped out of the station.
Further, he called upon Kenyans to keep the calm throughout the polls noting that the process shall be free and fair.
Mama Ngina Kenyatta also voted at the same center.
Roots Party candidate Professor George Wajackoyah was unable to vote after KIEMs kits failed to work when he turned up at Indangalasia Primary school in Matungu Constituency polling station.
