President Ruto appoint Bishop David Oginde as EACC chairperson

President William Ruto has appointed Bishop David Oginde as the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) chairperson.

Through a statement by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, Oginde’s appointment comes after recommendations to the Head of State by the Public Service Commission (PSC).

“His Excellency Hon. William Samoei Ruto has on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, nominated Bishop (Dr.) David Adang Oginde for appointment as the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission,”

He replaces Archbishop (Emeritus) Dr Eliud Wabukala who retired after serving a full six-year term at the helm of the anti-graft agency.

He was one of the three shortlisted candidates among them former Makueni governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana and Amani Yuda Komora.

Oginde’s name has been transmitted to the National Assembly for consideration in fulfillment of legal requirements set out under the Constitution and the EACC.

Oginde is the immediate former Presiding Bishop of Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) and the immediate former Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University.

He holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership, USA and a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Pan Africa Christian University.
