President Ruto make major reshuffle in boards, state corporation appointments

President William Ruto has once again announced key changes in the leadership of the parastatal and state corporations’ boards entrenching his preferred point men to ensure a firm grip into the running of his nascent administration.

Through a special gazette notice published today, Ruto has appointed Aden Noor Ali the chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and revoked Ali’s predecessor Agnes Odhiambo.

Dr. Jane Lagat chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board and will serve for a period of three years, with effect from February 3, 2023 replacing Professor Wanjiku Kabira whose appointment has been revoked forthwith.

Former Chief of Defence Forces Samson Mwathethe has also been appointed the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI).

He will also serve for a period of three 3years, with effect from February, 2. He will take over from John Waithaka whose appointment has been revoked.

The Coast Development Authority was also affected by the changes.

Mzee Mwinyi Mzee has been appointed the new chair and will take over from Philip Charo whose appointment has been revoked. Mzee will serve for a period of three years starting February 3.

Also, the president appointed Joseph Kimani Machiri, Claire Sifuna Wanyama, Ahmed Abdi Rashid, Mary Murangi Mugo, Caroline and Cherono Kilisha as members of the State Corporations Advisory Committee. They will serve for a period of three 3 years, with effect from February 3.
