NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 30 – President William Ruto now says that Raila Odinga’s accusation on alleged bribery attempt by former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Wafula Chebukati and two other Commissioners are a little bit too late.

Speaking in Mombasa on Monday during the 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Africa Prosecutors’ Association Conference, President Ruto questioned why Odinga failed to raise the allegations during the Supreme Court Petition that he had filed against his win.

“He is telling this story five months after the act. You had an opportunity to bring this evidence of alleged bribery before a seven-judge bench, but you did not. You have instead chosen to take this big announcement to a political rally,” President Ruto said.

The Head of State further questioned his closest political challenger and Opposition leader Raila Odina on why he had to invite electoral body commissioners to his house while he was a candidate in the 2022 general election

“He is volunteering this information with insinuations that that the officials had gone there for something he has not disclosed. It begs the question, if it is true, what were these officials doing in your house at your invitation. Being a candidate, how did you end up inviting officials of an independent body to your house?” he stated.

On Sunday, during an Azimio La Umoja Rally at Jacaranda Grounds, Odinga told Chebukati to stop saying Azimio made attempts to bribe him and warned that he will reveal photos of him visiting his home accompanied by former commissioners Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu.

“Chebukati stated that there were people who wanted to bribe him, Guliye and Molu. I want to ask them why they visited Baba’s home?” he stated.

“What did they borrow from me? They should know I have their pictures and if they play with me, I will unveil them,” Odinga said.

The Azimio Leader cast aspersions on the much celebrated Chebukati’s character reiterating the alleged visit by the IEBC commissioners to Former CS Raphael Tuju.

“Those are dirty people, Chebukati is a dirty person, he should be taken to jail,” said Odinga.

The Azimio Leader lamented that Chebukati stole his victory in the August polls by 2 Million votes rallying Kenyans to desist President William Ruto administration.

“If we go back to the polls, I will still defeat him and that’s why I am saying that Ruto must go!” Odinga said.

Odinga has told President William Ruto to underestimate him on his own peril. He asked President Ruto familiarize himself with records of political movements aimed at disrupting the rulership of his predecessor Daniel Moi.
