Jamaican reggae singer Protoje has announced his new album ‘Third Time’s Charm’ which is set to be released on September 23rd.
His U.S. tour entitled ‘Lost in Time’, with support from Jesse Royal and Lila Iké, has kicked off today in Atlanta, Georgia in anticipation of his sixth studio release.
Yesterday, the artist dropped the hit ‘Late at Night’ featuring fellow Jamaican singer and song writer Lila Iké while mentioning that they have never disappointed their fans whenever they work together.
“If somebody ever tells you that Protoje and Lila Iké ever miss with a collab lie dem a tell. This is a certified anthem and one of the best riddims me hear in Reggae music, me very proud of this one,” wrote Protoje as he gave his fans a teaser of the music video.

Through ‘Late at Night’ Protoje artfully conjoins American soul and Jamaican Lovers rock into a modern day masterpiece. The song’s rhythmic framework samples the version done by Jamaica’s iconic singer Pam Hall.
Protoje mentions that Lila’s voice adds an unnatural feeling to this song.
“I’ve been searching for an instrumental that epitomizes hard core reggae. It feels like how ‘WelcometoJamrock’ by DamianMarley felt when I first heard it, and Lila’s voice adds this eerie and haunting element to an already dark and grimy riddim,” he says.
Late at Night is one the singles from his eagerly-awaited album.
