Controversial American artist R Kelly has welcomed his first child with his girlfriend and alleged victim who stood by him, Joycelyn Savage.
Savage bore a girl named Ava Lee Kelly and the new mum has shared the news through her Instagram page.
Introducing her baby to her followers, Joycelyn penned a message mentioning that she would always protect her baby girl and that she is so happy to be her mother.
“My baby girl Ava when you were born, my whole world shined so bright. I knew that it was no longer about me anymore it was about us. Though the world is cold, I promise to always protect you. I am so happy to be your mother & you bring me so much joy. 12.08.22 🎀💕,” She wrote.
Many argued she should have kept the identity of her child’s father a secret so as to protect her from being bullied.

“Your child will be bullied by the public. She won’t be safe at all. She’ll be too young to hear the things she will hear. And R. Kelly money will run out. Change your name. Take your child and run! Give her a chance at a normal life and never tell her who her father is. You shouldn’t have even posted all this. The baby shouldn’t be a pawn in a game to set a man free. That’s your child. Your life now. Let that man go and run.” Reads a comment from a user identified as Ianna.
R. Kelly is currently in jail serving a 30-year sentence
Several months ago Joycelyn made it public that she was expecting Kelly’s child something many refuted including lawyer Jennifer Bonjean who argued that Kelly has been long behind bars and it would be hard to claim the pregnancy as his.
