The organizers of the event hosted by Dr. Kofi Annan Foundation had requested the Kenyan government to present a key personality to speak about Annan’s legacy, largely due to the mediation role he played in Kenya during the 2007 disputed presidential election won by Mwai Kibaki and which was contested by Odinga.
Raila while accompanied by Kenya’s High Commissioner to the UK Manoah Esipisu visited Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso at a London hospital
Notably, his tour comes hot in the heels after Deputy President William Ruto planned trip to Canada and US was scuttled at the eleventh hour in what was believed to be a move by top statehouse operatives.
