Relief at the pump as petrol price drops by KSh 4.76 ▷ Kenya News

– A litre of super petrol will now retail at KSh 108.05 and diesel at KSh 101.96

Motorist’s pain at the pump was on Monday, October 14, eased after super petrol and diesel prices dropped in the latest review by Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).

In a statement, EPRA revealed that super petrol and diesel users will until Thursday, November 14, pay KSh 4.76 and KSh 1.08 less respectively for every litre of the two commodities.

In Nairobi, a litter of super petrol will retail at KSh 108.05 from KSh 112. 81 while diesel will sell at KSh 101.96 from KSh 103.04.

The regulator attributed the friendlier prices to a drop-in landing cost of imported super petrol and diesel which dropped by 7.66 % and 2.32% respectively.

“Taking into account the weighted average cost of imported refined petroleum products, the changes in the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices in Nairobi are as follows: Super Petrol and Diesel decrease by KSh 4.76 per litre and KSh 1.08 per litre respectively,” the statement read in part.

Kerosine users will, however, dig deeper in their pockets as its price per litre increased by KSh 0.44 to sell at KSh 101.08.

In Mombasa, super petrol will retail at KSh 105.44, diesel (KSh 99.35) and kerosine (KSh 98.47).

Consumers in Nakuru will pay KSh 108.56 for super petrol, KSh 102.67 for diesel and KSh 101.78 for kerosine while their Kisumu counterparts will pay KSh 109.56, KSh 103.66 and KSh 102.78 respectively.

The prices are inclusive of 8% tax levied on petroleum products that was passed under the Finance Bill 2018.
