President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent his message of condolence to friends and family of the late author Ken Walibora. A statement by State House social media account read
President Kenyatta has condoled with the family of celebrated Kenyan Kiswahili scholar, author & journalist Prof Ken Walibora.
The President described the late Walibora as a polished broadcaster and prolific writer whose literary works will continue to inspire future generations.
Walibora’s remains were on Wednesday morning traced to Kenyatta National Hospital Mortuary with reports saying that he was hit by a bus.
Preliminary reports indicate Walibora was crossing the road, car keys in the hand, and a press card in his pocket, when he was knocked down by a matatu along Landhies road on Friday last week.
He was known for several literary works including the popular ‘Siku njema’ novel published in 1996.
Some of his other novels include Kidagaa kimemwozea and Innocence long lost.
He previously taught at the School of International Relations and Diplomacy at the Riara University.
