Deputy President William Ruto has vowed to lower the prices of farming products if elected in the August 9 General Election.
Speaking while on the campaign trail in Nandi County and part of Western Kenya on Sunday, Ruto said he would lower fertiliser prices from Ksh 6,000 to Ksh 2,500.
The DP pledged to lower the cost of agricultural input and cut off brokers and cartels frustrating farmers.
“Our plan identifies agriculture as the led sector in the economic transformation of our country. We will make deliberate investment in the sector through a subsidy programme for farm inputs and initiate measures to ensure farmers make profit from crop farming and livestock.”
Ruto rallied voters to elect candidates allied to Kenya Kwanza in the August 9th general elections.
He maintained that Kenya Kwanza has the best plans to revive the country’s economy, even as he urged local administrators to maintain ethical standards in the run-up to next month’s poll.
The UDA leaders urged the Mulembe community to support his Presidential bid, saying he has taken into account the region’s development needs.
