Deputy President William Ruto has schemed to skip the much awaited handing over of the BBI report to President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga, expected to take place any time from now.
It emerged that Ruto who is openly not happy with some of the key recommendations in the report, planted moles within the BBI team for updates.
This informed the action of some politicians allied to him notably from Mt. Kenya region who threatened to shoot down proposals contained in the Building Bridges Initiative even before it officially reached Uhuru and Raila for subsequent analysis.
The kind of network Ruto operated within the team proved mind-boggling based on the fact that the secretaries were carefully scrutinized by the National Intelligence Service.
Details of the discussions within the team leaked to Ruto despite the fact that Yussuf Haji led members were compelled to leave their phones outside during boardroom meetings.
Ruto has termed as personal agenda, the introduction of a parliamentary system of government with a powerful Prime Minister and two deputies, claimed to be part of the proposal of the BBI.
