Three Mount Kenya leaders have advised Uhuru Kenyatta and his handlers to stop wasting their time trying to tame William Ruto’s political wave sweeping across the region and beyond like a tsunami.
Addressing an impromptu meeting along Kanisa Road in Nyeri town, Mt Kenya Council of Elders chairman Paul Mwati, Tetu MP Gichuhi Mwangi, former Kamakwa ward councillor John Kanja, and former nominated civic leader, Muthoni Wanjau, downplayed recent Sagana State Lodge meeting called by Uhuru, as a desperate effort to subdue his deputy’s increasing support in the region ahead of 2022 transitional general elections.
“What kind of
a statesman
even by now
is unable to
come out
with a clear
succession
plan?”
posed ex-councillor Muthoni.
“Just like a jet, Ruto’s wave in Gema political landscape has reached cruising height while Uhuru, Raila Odinga and their handlers are still packed in the apron not even in the political runway,” said Mt Kenya Council of Elders boss.
Tetu MP wondered how a whole president could treat leaders like lower primary school pupils at Sagana State Lodge meeting which by large, was also used as a dipstick to measure political support of the handshake and the Building Bridges Initiative, besides scuttling deputy president’s inroads in the region.
