Mathare United missed out on the chance to get back on top of the Kenya Premier League standings after they were held to a barren draw by Zoo FC at the Kericho Green Stadium.
Having been relegated into the 2nd position by Bandari FC on Saturday following The Dockers’ 1-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks, Mathare United were aware that a win against Zoo FC would propel them back into the top spot.
However, the Slum Boys were unable to break Zoo’s resilience, with the match ending in a goalless draw.
The result leaves the Francis Kimanzi coached side 2nd on the log on 26 points, two points behind Bandari, while Zoo slipped a spot down to 15th.
