A Senate committee has summoned the Western regional security team to explain why they skipped the committee’s sittings in Kakamega County.
The Senate Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations held sittings in Governor Wycliffe Oparanya’s office.
The regional security team, led by Regional Commissioner Anne Ng’etich, Regional Police Commander Rashid Yakubu, County Commissioner Pauline Dola and County Police Commander Bernard Muli were expected to give a report over recent spate of killings.
The committee wanted to be briefed on the status of security in Kilingili market in Vihiga County where six guards were killed in one night.

They have seven days to present written submissions to the Senate committee whose sittings will now be held in Nairobi.
