
Pumwani Maternity Hospital is counting losses after a fire incident broke out at pharmacy store razing down an unknown amount of drugs and medical equipment.
In a statement by CEC Health Wellness and Nutrition Dr. Anastacia Nyalita the county government is yet to ascertain damage caused by the 3.00 am incident.
“This morning at 3:30 am fire broke out in the commodity and pharmacy store, Pumwani Maternity Hospital. The Nairobi City County fire and rescue services team responded in a record 10 minutes and put out the fire,” Nyalita said.
She also added that the police have taken over the matter and the probe is ongoing.
“There were no casualties. The Nairobi City County team and police are assessing the damage and investigations are underway to ascertain cause of fire,” she added.
Daily hospital operations resumed at 5am.
