Journalist Moses Okiror Omusolo attached to Standard Media Group has today morning been found dead in Kayole, Nairobi.
The 35-year-old business editor was reportedly found in a ditch along Kangundo Road with deep cut wounds on the head by the roadside.
The journalist’s colleagues expressed sorrow at the loss of their friend which they described as sudden and unexpected.
“Omusolo was found dead yesterday night in Kayole with a deep cut in his head,” his colleague, Xavier Ouma explained.
According to reports Omusolo was killed while enroute to his home.
Police believe that he was killed elsewhere, and his body later dumped at the ditch where it was found.
They also say that a black backpack was recovered next to his body and had personal documents that assisted in identifying him.
Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy to identify the cause of death.
“The body of the deceased was taken to the morgue and currently investigations are ongoing to ascertain what might have transpired,” he said.
Police said they are yet to know the motive of the murder and possible suspects.
His colleagues attributed him as a hard-working and dedicated journalist.
