Standard Group to host property expo : The Standard

The Standard Group PLC will host an affordable housing expo from September 27 to 29 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

The expo is dubbed ‘Own A Home Expo’ and entrance is free to the public.
A day before the expo, on September 26, the media firm will host a Transform Kenya live panel discussion on housing.
Transform Kenya is a Standard Group initiative that brings together sector stakeholders to discuss key issues in the areas of concern, in this edition, this will be in the area of housing.
Previous Transform Kenya forums have focused on various sectors.
Exhibitors at the property exhibition will be drawn from property sellers, developers, interior and décor, house appliances, electrical dealers and anyone willing to buy a house.

The expo will seek to link home buyers with affordable properties in the market and showcase new technologies and innovations in the property market.
Confirmed exhibitors for the expo include Karibu Homes, Ndatani Enterprises, ADD properties, Natural Stone, Turacco Properties, Kasha Properties, Rama Homes, Delta properties, Diamond properties, The Residency, Sampesa Holdings, Housing Finance, Super foam and Global Precast Panels.
The exhibition comes at a time when the real estate industry and government policy is heavily in favour of the promotion and provision of affordable housing.
For a long time, the property industry has been seen as favouring the high income segment of the market, leaving out the lower income groups.
