A stepfather who is accused of chopping off the ear of a boy 2-year-old boy has been arrested in Nakuru.
Witnesses said the incident occurred on Monday while the mother was away at the farm in Kuresoi North.
The mother reportedly heard her son screaming in pain and when she came back, she found his right ear had been chopped off.
The suspect had already fled after the scene.
The woman raised the alarm attracting members of the public who began chasing after the man.
They found him a few metres near the home and frogmarched him to Kuresoi Police Station.
He was arrested and is set to be arraigned.
Residents demanded that serious action be taken against him man and insisted that he could have declined to marry the wife if he didn’t want to adopt the child.
Reports indicate that the boy had been previously mistreated with the stepfather forcing him to spend nights away from home for the last three months.
