Storm brews at activist group – Weekly Citizen

A storm is brewing in Bungoma activists’ group with allegations of fraud coupled with massive propaganda. The group’s founder Zachariah Barasa is accused of obtaining money by false pretenses from unscrupulous Bungoma residents. Barasa who is also an auctioneer-cum-land broker is said to have duped several innocent Kenyans.

Speaking to Weekly Citizen in Bungoma, the victims said their outcry has fallen on deaf years as the group director has threatened them with unspecified action. Barasa who is known for offering transport service to ferry dead bodies has also been at loggerheads with Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati. Residents have called upon Bungoma police commander Mutungi Musyoki to probe the activist.
