According to area MCA Stanley Karanja, the situation has been worsened by the failure of the Kenya Wild Service officers to act swiftly despite numerous complaints from the residents.

Affected residents are demanding compensation and warn the human-wildlife conflict could worsen.

The residents now fear for their safety and that of their school-going children.
