Syinix A20 Android TV-powered TVs now available in Kenya

TV brand Syinix, from the same people that make mobile devices under the Tecno, Infinix and itel brands, has availed its latest lineup of televisions, the Syinix A20 series, in the country.

The television series was launched yesterday, July 15th.

The Syinix A20 series TVs are the first Android TV-powered TVs from the brand.

The Syinix A20 series comprises TVs in 32, 43, 50 and 55-inch screen sizes.

Buyers of the new Syinix A20 series will be able to enjoy up to 24 months warranty. Within the 2 years the warranty will be active, they will be able to get their TVs serviced and repaired at any of the Carl Care service centres across the country for free.

“To provide further value to the customers, Syinix is partnering with Carlcare, to provide first-class-after sales services anytime, anywhere. you will be able to enjoy Syinix’s first-class after-sales services anytime and anywhere,” a statement from Syinix reads.

With a 96% screen-to-body ratio, Syinix says that its latest TVs are the first true frameless TVs it has offered.

Being on the Android TV platform, the Syinix A20 series TVs come with built-in Chromecast functionality and access to apps through the Google Play Store. There is also access to the Google Assistant through the dedicated Assistant button on the TVs’ remote controls.

It also has Bluetooth for pairing with external devices like speakers.

Syinix is also making a point of hyping their TVs’ HDR features which allow viewers to experience rich more realistic colours. We cannot, however, independently verify the availability of HDR on the said TVs.

The 32-inch TV is going for a promotional launch price of Kshs 13,200, the 43-inch has a Kshs 21,800 price tag, the 50-inch is priced at Kshs 30,000 and the 55-inch model is going for Kshs 44,000. These promotional launch prices run from yesterday (July 15th) to Tuesday, July 21st.

After that, they should revert to their marked prices: Kshs 19,900 for the 32-inch TV, Kshs 34,290 for the 43-inch model, Kshs 53,060 for the 50-inch and Kshs 62,118 for the 55-inch model.

By launching Android TV-powered TVs in the Kenyan market, Syinix is joining the likes of Xiaomi, TCL, Hisense and Sony, in offering Android TV-powered televisions in the local market.

Besides TV sets directly running Android TV, Kenyans also have access to streaming boxes like the Xiaomi Mi Box (S), the Safaricom Giga Box and the recently-announced Ematic 4K box as a means of turning their existing televisions into Android TV devices and enjoying access to a lot of the features and apps they are already familiar with from their usage of Android smartphones.
