Tanzanian coach claims he cursed Ingwe not to win KPL title ▷ Kenya News

Former AFC Leopards coach Sunday Kayuni has claimed the Kenya Premier League outfit will never win the domestic title.

Ingwe are yet to win the KPL title for more than twenty years now, with their last taste for glory coming in 1998 when Kayuni was at the helm of affairs.

Leopards have since then been caged from laying their hands on the titles even as rivals Gor Mahia continue their dominance in Kenyan football.

Kayuni, who was unceremoniously axed as Ingwe head coach by the then chairman, the late Francis Chahonyo, has now come out to allude the club’s title drought to his curse on them.

The Tanzanian tactician insisted Ingwe can only reclaim their glory of yester-years if they pay him his outstanding arrears and apologise for mistreating him.

“It is true I cursed AFC Leopards and they will never win the KPL title again. Even if they sign Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola, they will not win the league,” Kayuni told Goal.

“I was fired like a dog and chased away and the pain I went through during that period was very hard to take. It was very unfortunate all this happened after I had helped the team to win the title and it will remain their only title,” he declared.

Meanwhile, Leopards will be looking to turn around their KPL fortunes when the season kicks off next month.
