“Tarimbo” is the new hit banger by Ethic Entertainment that’s currently at number one on YouTube, despite Ezekiel Mutua asking Google to take down the video. However, Google says the video is unavailable for people with restricted mode.

The video was uploaded on YouTube three days ago and is currently sitting at the top with over half a million views. This, of course, isn’t the first song the CEO of KFCB has banned, a few months ago it was “Wamlambez” by Sailors that was on the chopping block. However, the banning of “Wamlambez” didn’t go to expectations as the song ended up being a cult classic and inadvertently turning into an ironic form of greeting.

On the contrary, the banning of “Tarimbo” has been welcomed, most Kenyans calling out lyrics such as “…namwaga bila permission…” for encouraging rape culture.

Ezekiel Mutua went on to condemn the group stating that they showed no regard for morality and castigating the song for promoting indecency. The chairman further called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigation to arrest Ethic Entertainment Group.

“I have spoken to Google to take down the damn crap called Tarimbo by Ethic Entertainment which advocates for rape of women. Promoting violence against women is criminal. The DCI should arrest the entire bunch of musicians called Ethic, under Article 33, for going beyond the prescribed delimitations on freedom of expression by advocating for violence against women,” Mutua said via his Facebook account. Mutua also called on all DeeJays asking them to not play the song.  “Any self-respecting DJ should not play this song. No club should allow music that advocates for violence against women. Unless decent people rise against the wave of immorality in Kenya, we are going to lose a generation in the name of creative freedom,’’ he remarked.

Ethic entertainment has not released any statement regarding the matter.
