Boda boda operators in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area appealing for protection from marauding criminals in the area.
The operators claim that the thugs calling themselves Super Power are walking around with crude weapons like pangas and knives.
Joseph Nyamai an operator says he was attacked and hacked on the head by the criminals after he saw them harassing a taxi driver.
“I had come from dropping a customer when I saw them harassing a taxi driver. When I went to help the taxi driver who was my friend, one of them went to the car, picked a panga and hacked me on the head,” narrates Nyamai.
According to Nyamai, he reported the matter to California police station the criminals were arrested and released immediately.

“We went to the police station and reported the matter. When we got to the police station, the officers asked us to first get treatment so we rushed to the hospital and when we came back, we were told that the young men had been released,” he said.
Hassan Maina another operator says that, after they were released, the suspects returned to the scene the same night and revenged on the taxi operators who were still at work.
“The police have so far done nothing. In fact after they were released, they came back the same night and revenged,” said Maina.
The Saturday attack is allegedly the third attack within a span of three weeks. The super power criminals are allegedly frustrating business people in Eastleigh.
