Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is living that non-stop movie star life, traveling the world to promote Hobbs & Shaw and dropping by the D23 Expo to talk Jungle Cruise. He just took to Instagram to explain how he copes with the constant jet lagof a press tour, and his strategy probably won’t surprise you: as soon as he arrives in a new place, he hits the nearest gym.
“No matter how many hours I’ve flown, no matter how many miles I’ve traveled, regardless of what country it is, the first thing I need to do to get ready for the work day is I gotta find the gym,” he said in an Instagram video. “I need to find my local Iron Paradise. This, working out every day, is my anchor. Life is so crazy and busy for me, and for you guys too, like we’re on this treadmill that just doesn’t stop and continues to go, so I do need working out to anchor my day. It helps me balance myself.”
He elaborated in the caption for the video, saying: “It drives your system to adjust to the local time zones, combats jet lag and helps balance & anchor you so you can start your work day with great productivity and value.”
It’s the most on-brand cure for jet lag ever. Wherever he goes in the world, The Rock finds a gym, and it’s getting more and more likely that no matter where he lands, he’ll have brought his own gear with him. Last year, Johnson relocated all of his equipment to the Hawaiian jungle so he could keep up his workouts while filming Hobbs & Shaw and Jungle Cruise. And just one month ago, he gave fans a tour of the epic gym which he built at his farm in Virginia, which he dubbed his “country Iron Paradise.”
Of course, we’ve come to expect nothing less from Johnson. You don’t become one of the highest-paid, most popular actors in Hollywood without putting in the work and dedication.
