Three more suspects among them two underage boys have been arrested in connection to the murder of LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba.
According to police spokesperson Resila Onyango, the three aided the prime suspect, Jackton Odhiambo in carrying the metal box used in disposing Chiloba’s body.
She also said that the car that was used to dispose the body on the road has been detained at Yamumbi police station.
Resila said that the matter was currently being investigated as a case of love triangle.
Shortly after his arrest on Friday, Odhiambo confessed to killing his lover Chiloba after finding out that he was unfaithful.
Chiloba’s caretaker Alex Nyamwea said that Odhiambo had called him using Chiloba’s phone saying that they were planning to vacate the premise.
The two had been living together as husband and wife and had been spotted having fun at a local joint as they ushered in the new year.
Neighbours said that they heard a commotion at the duo’s house soon after returning home.
The neighbours did not follow up on the commotion but however reported to have seen two people loading a metal box into a vehicle whose registration number was concealed.
Last week, Chiloba’s lifeless body was found stuffed in a metallic box and dumped along the Kipenyo-Kaptinga road in Eldoret.
His body was taken to the Moi Referral and Teaching Hospital awaiting post-mortem to establish the cause of death.
