Two Homa Bay MCAs accused of robbing their colleagues’ property worth Sh272, 500 have been arraigned.
Kendu Bay Town MCA Morris Ogwang’ and his Kibiri counterpart Michael Odira, however, denied the charges that were read before Homa Bay Senior Resident Magistrate Joy Wesonga.
They were accused of robbing Homa Bay Town East MCA Juma Awuor and his Homa Bay Town Central counterpart Julius Nyambok of various items. They are facing three counts each.
In the first count, the court heard that the two jointly with others not before the court, robbed Mr Awuor of Sh75,000 cash money, a wristwatch valued at Sh15,000 and open shoes worth Sh2,500.

They were reportedly armed with a club and stones before injuring Awuor during the attack.
The offences were committed at Kendu Bay, Rachuonyo North Sub-county in Homa Bay county on May 7, 2020.
In the second count, the duo was accused of collaborating with others not before the court to rob Nyambok of Sh180,000 cash money. They also injured Nyambok on the same scene and time.
In the third count, they were accused of willfully and unlawfully damaging the rear left windscreen of Mr Awuor’s Toyota Land Cruiser. The damaged windscreen was worth Sh12,000.
Each of them was released on a bond of Sh150, 000 with a surety of a similar amount.
